Robotics Engineer in a fast moving start up.This is an awesome opportunity to join a fast paced start up organisation who have big plans! If you are a motivated engineer who loves to solve complex problems....please read on!!
?This is an LA based role, you will need to be based in the area or open to relocating.
The Role
You will own precise and reliable robot motion across trajectory planning, control algorithms, sensor feedback, simulation and real-world performance. Day to day, this includes building kinematic and dynamic models, tuning control loops for accuracy and repeatability, integrating motion with computer vision and sensor feedback for closed-loop behaviours, and developing safety, fault detection and recovery mechanisms.
You will work closely with a cross functional team including perception, AI/ML and software engineers to turn R&D into robust, production-ready systems. It is a strong opportunity for an early-career engineer who wants to grow quickly across controls, motion planning, system integration and deployment.
About You
Ideally you will hold a BS in Robotics, Control Systems or a similar discipline, and bring 2+ years of hands-on experience developing robotics or motion-control systems:
(not all required of course!)
Core technical requirements:
Robot kinematics, including forward/inverse kinematics, coordinate frames, Jacobians and workspace analysis
Motion-control algorithms, including trajectory generation, PID control loops, velocity/acceleration control and motion profiling
Strong C++ and/or Python for developing and debugging robotic control software
ROS / ROS 2 or comparable robotics middleware
Robotic hardware, including servo motors, motor controllers, encoders and force/torque sensors
Real-time systems, including control-loop timing, latency, synchronisation, communication protocols and deterministic behaviour
Integrating perception and sensor feedback (cameras, force sensors) into closed-loop motion
Debugging and system integration across mechanical, electrical, firmware and software components
Nice to have:
6+ DOF robotic arms
AI/ML models applied to robotics and motion control
Collision detection and robot safety systems
MoveIt or similar motion planning frameworks
Gazebo, Isaac Sim or other robot simulation tools
Force/impedance control
The Company
This is a fast-paced, innovative robotics startup building automation that works in the real world, not just the lab. Our robots are already deployed commercially and performing every day, and we are now scaling the technology further. Our engineers get real ownership, close collaboration across disciplines, and the chance to see their work running on live systems.
Next Steps
If this sounds like the right next move for you, submit your application and we will be in touch.
