Technology Solution Architect
? London (Hybrid)
? £80,000 - £120,000 + benefits
I’m currently working with a leading international law firm who are looking to hire a Technology Solution Architect to join their growing Architecture function.
This is a key strategic role within a highly regarded Technology team that continues to receive significant investment. Technology is a core enabler for the firm, supporting complex legal work, global operations, and ongoing transformation across a modern enterprise environment.
You’ll be joining a very focused architecture capability, working as part of a small team of 3, alongside the Head of Architecture, with significant visibility across the wider technology and business functions.
This role requires someone who is confident working in ambiguity, enjoys solving complex integration and design challenges, and is extremely strong in communication — both with technical teams and senior non-technical stakeholders. The Role
As a Technology Solution Architect, you will be responsible for designing and delivering end-to-end technology solutions that align with enterprise architecture standards, business requirements, and security principles.
You will operate across multiple domains, working closely with engineering, cloud, data, infrastructure, and security teams to ensure solutions are scalable, secure, and supportable.
A major part of this role is communication and stakeholder engagement — you must be able to clearly articulate complex technical solutions, influence senior stakeholders, and guide delivery teams through design and implementation decisions.
Key responsibilities include:
Translating business requirements into end-to-end technical solution designs
Producing high-level and low-level architecture documentation (HLDs / LLDs)
Designing integration solutions across enterprise platforms and applications
Defining APIs, data flows, and messaging/integration patterns
Working closely with delivery teams throughout build and implementation
Ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture standards and governance
Evaluating build vs buy options and supporting technology selection
Defining and validating non-functional requirements (performance, scalability, resilience, security)
Producing architectural decision records (ADRs) and maintaining documentation standards
Supporting architecture governance forums and design approvals
Collaborating with domain architects across data, security, and platform teams
Engaging and influencing both technical teams and senior business stakeholders
Technology Environment
The environment is primarily Microsoft Azure-based, including:
Azure App Services
Azure Functions
Azure Service Bus
Azure API Management (APIM)
SQL Server
Enterprise integration platforms and APIs
CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
Experience with legal or enterprise business applications such as iManage, Aderant, Intapp, or similar systems is highly beneficial.
What They’re Looking For
Essential Experience
Experience in Solution Architecture, Technical Design, or Senior Engineering roles
Strong integration architecture experience (APIs, messaging, system integration)
Hands-on Azure cloud experience
Strong understanding of security architecture and data protection principles
Experience working in complex enterprise environments
Ability to produce clear architecture documentation (HLDs, LLDs, diagrams, standards)
Exceptional communication skills with ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and explain complex technical concepts simply
Experience working in Agile/DevOps delivery environments
Desirable Experience
Legal sector experience (preferred)
Professional services or regulated industry experience (insurance, financial services, consulting, etc.)
TOGAF or equivalent enterprise architecture framework
Azure certifications (Associate / Expert level)
Experience with EA tooling such as Ardoq or LeanIX
Exposure to AWS (beneficial but not essential)
Additional Information
Hybrid working model (typically 2–3 days per week onsite in London)
Small architecture team (3 people total) working closely with the Head of Architecture
Highly collaborative and visible role across the business
Strong opportunity to influence architecture standards and ways of working
International, complex legal environment with cross-border operations
Open to candidates with longer notice periods for the right individual
