Cyber Security Consultant
Location: Fully Remote – travel to customer sites when required
Salary: £65,000 + £5,000 car allowance
I’m working with a leading technology services business that is growing its Cyber Security team and looking to hire a Cyber Security Consultant.
This is a customer-facing Cyber Security role, combining hands-on technical security work with consulting and customer engagement. You’ll work directly with customers to understand their security requirements, carry out assessments, identify risks and provide clear, practical recommendations.What you’ll be doing:
Working with customers to define the scope and objectives of security assessments
Delivering infrastructure penetration testing
Delivering Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus assessments
Carrying out vulnerability assessments
Identifying security gaps and providing practical remediation guidance
Communicating technical findings clearly to customers and senior stakeholders
Supporting pre-sales and post-sales activity where required
Working with vendors around product updates, technical issues and improvements
Maintaining quality processes and operational documentation
Sharing knowledge and supporting the development of technical capability within the team
Keeping up to date with emerging threats, technologies and security best practice
What they’re looking for:
3+ years’ experience within IT or Cyber Security
Experience delivering infrastructure penetration testing OR Cyber Essentials Plus assessments
An industry-recognised certification such as CREST CRT, OSCP, Cyber Scheme CTSM, VA+ or equivalent
Strong customer-facing communication skills
Confidence communicating with senior stakeholders and explaining technical concepts to non-technical audiences
Ability to build strong customer relationships and provide practical security advice
Experience working within an MSP, MSSP or similar customer-focused technology environment is particularly relevant
Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to customer sites when required
Ability to manage your own workload across multiple customer environments
