Propel have worked with The Trade Desk (TTD) since they landed in Europe in 2013 having been tasked to hire the first UK employee. Since then, the relationship has been a close one, with Propel going on to help TTD hire 35 people in the UK and Europe. Hires covered commercial, marketing, technical and business operations positions. Executive level searches (Head of Finance, HR and UK and European General Manager) were also successfully completed.
The latest search assignment Propel were appointed to conduct was particularly important. A replacement needed to be found for the UK Managing Director, who had been placed by Propel four and a half years earlier and who had been promoted to an international position based in the company’s New York office.TTD have a rigorous hiring process, and the successful candidate would need to have the perfect mix of competency and cultural fit. Following an extensive search of the UK marketing technology ecosystem, the successful candidate was appointed from a small but exceptional shortlist of candidates.
The relationship Propel formed with TTD helped the business grow the UK team effectively in a very competitive advertising technology market. This regional growth was part of the strategy that saw the executive team lead TTD through to a successful IPO, building a true AdTech unicorn in the process.
