Grasp HR

25 Aug 2020

On the build up to raising a round of series A funding, Grasp HR had already won several enterprise level clients. As the fund raise approached however, Grasp decided that it was time to add some experience to the executive team through the appointment of a proven CTO. This person would create an engineering function capable of creating world class software at scale.

The Challenge

Grasp HR had built a small in-house engineering team while also outsourcing some of their technical operations. The new CTO would need to assess their current product and platform and define and execute on a long-term technology roadmap. They would need to understand the intricacies and complexity of delivering software to enterprise level clients and would likely have experience of working in a more ‘corporate’ environment but also understand how to help scale a technology business from an early stage.

The Propel solution

This search really begun in our immediate network of senior technology leaders experienced in building start up’s. We were able to work with our network to introduce Grasp to a varied shortlist of candidates, from those with ‘been there, done that’ experience to others who would be stepping into their first CTO position. As the search evolved, it became apparent that a more experienced candidate would be best suited to the position and Grasp were able to make an appointment through a thorough and rigorous process.

The Results

Propel were able to help Grasp successfully hire their CTO have continue to help build the team as the organisation goes from strength to strength.
